Braamfontein hotel gets an upgrade | The Planner

The Devonshire Hotel in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, has completed the first phase of its upgrades which began in March.

As part of the Orion Hotel Group, The Devonshire is one of the oldest hotels in Johannesburg, dating as far back as the early 1930s.

The first phase of renovation saw a revival of all public areas such as the first and second floors and reception desk. This phase also included an upgrade of sound and video equipment in conference facilities, furniture, artwork, new restaurant facilities and kitchen equipment.

The second phase will address the upgrade of room colour schemes, beds, fixtures and furniture, as well as ablution facilities.

For the past six years, the Braamfontein district of Johannesburg, CBD, has slowly begun to progress. Mass building refurbishments, street and lighting installations and technological and electrical upgrades have brought about a new era in the district, said the Orion Group.
